Successful projects will be announced in September.
Miller Park Little A & Wildcats Facility Upgrade
Extension of current roof lines to provide all weather comfort for spectators, visitors and participants.
What’s this project about?
The project will provide a significant upgrade to the facility as far as protecting people from the weather when participating or spectating for Little Athletics and Football at Miller Park. It will complement the recent Football Club funded concrete viewing areas to provide shelter from sun and rain for everyone.
The extension of the roof lines will provide the community with a much improved facility for anyone using the Miller Park sports fields. Shelter will be provided for not only spectators but kids at training for Little Athletics and Football. It will allow the clubs to host larger groups of participants in a protected area and hopefully grow their respective sports.
The project involves Cessnock Council, Greta Branxton Little Athletics Club and Greta Branxton Wildcats Football Club. The plan is to extend the existing facilities to provide all weather viewing comfort with the help of a licensed contractor. Ideal timing for the project is Q3 2019 to allow Football and Little Athletics to provide improved facilities for football finals and the start of the athletics season.
Why should you vote for this project?
- Joint venture proposal Little Athletics and Football Club, sponsored by Cessnock Council showing the spirit of the town working together.
- Will improve the Miller Park facilities to compliment the growth of Little Athletics & Football.
- Gives parents and carers a more enjoyable experience so will hopefully keep kids in sport longer and active.
