Successful projects will be announced in September.
Northbridge Community & Scout Hall
The aged community hall needs funds to update kitchen/disabled-toilet/shower/flooring/electrical services. The total cost is $150k, local community will contribute $50k.
What’s this project about?
Thousands of people from over 70 community groups currently use the hall for a wide variety of diverse activities. Being close to parking, Northbridge Public School and the only synthetic turf sports ground of it size (Northbridge Oval), the hall is crucial infrastructure to the community. By updating and bringing toilet, kitchen, flooring and electrical facilities into compliance the hall refurbishment will expand the use to more of the community.
The hall hosts users from diverse areas including music, dance, arts, sporting, scouts, education and other youth programs. Youth engagement in a variety of activities helps combat mental health and build resilience building a healthy lifestyle for the youth and the community. The current aged and poor facilities preclude use by some community groups. There is limited similar infrastructure. Maintaining and improving the hall is essential for the community.
We have engaged an experienced professional local builder who has developed a detailed quote for the works totalling $150k. We have raised $50k from the local community and are ready to commence as soon as the balance of funds is available. The majority of the works would be completed within 3 months from commencement ensuring the hall was not out of action for most of the construction period.
Why should you vote for this project?
- The Northbridge Community and Scout hall is essential local infrastructure that needs updating to continue to support our community.
- Improved disabled access, kitchen and toilet/shower/electrical facilities will increase the variety of community groups able to use the hall.
- The project will strengthen the halls financial sustainability and enable income generation to self-fund future maintenance and capital works.
