Successful projects will be announced in September.
Inverell Sporting Complex Accessible Change Rooms & Amenities
Construction of a new amenities building which will include accessible change rooms, showers, toilets and storage.
What’s this project about?
This amenities block will provide fully accessible facilities that are currently not provided anywhere else at the Sporting Complex. The location on the northern side of Eucalypt Drive will mean patrons utilising fields 1 - 6 and the hockey precinct will not need to cross the road to access the facilities. This facility will incorporate much needed storage space for sporting groups and change facilities for referees and girls in sport.
The facility will be the only fully compliant wheelchair accessible unit at the Sporting Complex and will link to existing paths and ramps. The facilities will cater for referees and encourage 'girls in sport' and will be accessible both from the hockey precinct and the open fields. Sporting Clubs will also appreciate the additional storage space.
Plans have already been prepared. If this funding application is successful, building tenders can be called in November for construction of the facility, with works to commence early in 2020. As the facility will be located on Council land, Council will be responsible for project management of the facility.
Why should you vote for this project?
- This will provide fully compliant wheelchair accessible facilities for all users and can also be accessed directly from the hockey-precinct.
- Change rooms will cater especially for referees and 'girls in sport'.
- Additional storage at the Complex is required for Sporting Clubs.
