Invigorate Blaxland High School Performance Arts Centre
BHS PAC revitalization: new lights/tiered chairs/projection system/signs/storage/Fly System for Truss; upgrade sound system/dressing rooms/back stage breakout/practice rooms; enclose technical bay.
What’s this project about?
The BHS PAC is a multiple purpose performance space, utilised by the BHS community and the wider community for theatre, sport, productions and community events. Upgrading of facilities will improve the space, making it more aesthetically appealing, functional and safe, with enhanced lighting and sound equipment and space to store equipment. It will empower improved learning, practice and performance and provide greater comfort to audiences. The youth will greatly benefit.
The BHS PAC is a local resource is a lower blue mountains (LBM) space for drama, dance, learning and community events. These local groups and the LBM and school community deserve a functional and beautiful space with up to date equipment and facilities; an industry standard venue that meets the WHS requirements. The upgrade of this facility would allow further partnerships with other community-based groups to support our youth.
The BHS PAC project will be a joint BHS P&C & BHS project. The project is endorsed by the Principal and the BHS P&C. The BHS P&C is the sponsor. Suzanne Feltis, the business manager at BHS, will manage this project. The BHS P&C meets monthly with the Principal, where the project will be discussed, progress reported and issues addressed in order to maintain the timeline, until completion.
