Successful projects will be announced in September.
Upgrade to Female Friendly Change Room Facilities
We are aiming to make our current change rooms female-friendly to increase female participation in football.
What’s this project about?
Female-friendly change rooms will be able to provide our female players a more comfortable environment and promote a healthy wellbeing. This will benefit not just our female players, but all of the female players that visit our home grounds on a week to week basis and give them a comfortable space to be able to change and shower before and after games.
Our project will benefit three different sporting bodies that have access to our facilities at Stevenson Park over the summer and winter including football, baseball and softball. It will help to increase female participation across all of these sporting bodies and it has been seen that the female participation rates of football have increased significantly, since the success of the Westfield Matildas.
If we were to receive funding from the grant, we would hope to start our project as a matter of urgency. We have already sought quotes from tradespeople, who will be able to carry out the work with the help of our Club Committee and Local Council.
Why should you vote for this project?
- This will be one of the only female friendly facilities in the Newcastle Council Area.
- We will benefit three different sporting bodies and more participants in our community as a whole.
- We as a club want to provide better facilities and a better future for our local community.
